GRD 152 Magazine Spread
Print and Digital Media Publication: The Y2K Aesthetic

Design Objective
This project focused on creating a magazine centered around a researched topic, integrating both print and digital media. The process involved developing a client brief, thesis statement, visual research, thumbnails, and citations, culminating in an interactive digital magazine and a video presentation.

Design Brief
For this project, I explored the Y2K aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the bright, glittery, and futuristic visuals of the early to late 2000s. The magazine was designed to mimic the experience of navigating through computer windows, reflecting the digital and nostalgic essence of the era.

The process began with crafting a client brief and thesis statement, which established the magazine’s purpose and direction. Extensive visual research and thumbnail sketches informed the layout and design, ensuring the aesthetic aligned with the Y2K theme. The final interactive digital magazine incorporated dynamic elements to enhance user engagement, while a video presentation provided an in-depth look into the creative process and design choices.
This project combined research, visual storytelling, and interactive design, resulting in a magazine that not only captured the essence of the Y2K era but also provided an immersive reading experience.
