Design Objective
The objective of this project was to create a short, animated animatic based on an existing scene from a television show, film, or other source. The goal was to demonstrate an understanding of visual storytelling, scene composition, and timing through the creation of an original storyboard and timed animation sequence. Students were expected to write or adapt a script, plan out visual sequences, and produce a 60–90 second animatic that clearly conveys narrative, emotion, and pacing without relying on finished animation.

Design Brief
For this project, I chose to adapt a scene from Parks and Recreation Season 5, Episode 12, and translate it into a 60–90 second animatic to showcase my skills in storyboarding, composition, and timing. Using original sketches, I planned and structured key visual beats to ensure narrative clarity and emotional impact. Emphasis was placed on communicating movement and pacing through framing, shot variation, and scene transitions, without the need for finalized animation. The final animatic highlights my ability to develop a coherent visual story from script to screen.
